What is a facial?

A facial treatment is a relaxing and targeted treatment for your skin type, it's needs, and your concerns. Facials can assist with sun spots, brown spots, hyperpigmentation, dry skin, acne-prone and blemished skin, redness and rosacea, aging, and more. Each facial treatment starts off with a full skin analysis. This is then followed by a series of steps, depending on your skin and what your concerns are. Facials include many different steps such as masks, extractions, massage, exfoliation, serums, etc.

What are the benefits of a facial?

There are many benefits to regular facial treatments. These include:

How often can I get facial treatments done?

You can have facials done every 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the treatment being performed and your custom treatment plan. Coming for regular treatments is recommended for the best results, as well as using the recommended home care products.

What is the pre care for a facial?

PRE CARE: Stop exfoliating and exfoliants (retinols, aha, bha, acids, benzoyl peroxide, enzymes, clarisonic brushes, etc.) 3 days prior to your appointment. Come to your appointment with a clean face (no makeup). Ensure you are optimally hydrating/moisturizing your skin prior to treatment. If you are prone to cold sores, use medication for them prior to your appointment.

What is the post care for a facial?

POST CARE: 
-use a gentle cleanser and keep the area well moisturized
-SPF 30 should be used daily
-try to avoid touching your face, and if you are tempted to touch your face, use clean hands/fingers

For 24-48 hours post treatment:
-avoid scrubs, retinol, retin-a, alpha or beta hydroxy (AHAs or BHAs) acids
-avoid makeup and be sure that next time you use your brushes, they are clean
-avoid saunas, hot tubs, extreme heat, excessive sweating

For 1 week post treatment:
-avoid facial waxing

For 2 weeks post treatment:
-avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds, wear hats
-do not receive any other facial treatments (exfoliation, peels, laser, botox/filler)

Who cannot receive a facial treatment?

CONTRAINDICATIONS: Recent chemical peel or exfoliation treatment (within 2 weeks). Use of accutane in the past 6-12 months. Active cold sores in the area. Sunburn in the area. Undergoing chemo/radiation treatments. Eczema, rash, or dermatitis in area. Skin infection in area. History of keloid scarring/formation.
